Hong Kong’s startup ecosystem returned some impressive results in the past year, despite the ongoing economic challenges of the global pandemic. In the year 2021-2022, 17 more startups have joined HKAI Lab program, making a total of 65 since 2018. Their businesses span across the categories including ArtTech & Metaverse, Biomedical Tech, ConTech and PropTech, Climate Risk, eCommerce & Smart Retail, EduTech, FinTech & RegTech, GreenTech, Media, Medical & Health Tech, Smart City & Living, Smart Manufacturing, Tourism, InsurTech, etc. HKAI Lab continued to build and develop the AI ecosystem in Hong Kong and kept organizing many workshops and webinars with different corporates, VC, universities and associations.
